The City of Kirkwood passed a bond issue allowing for the replacement of three of the city's fire stations with expanded modern facilities. Each station has similar program elements which include multiple apparatus bays, decontamination areas, gear storage and staff living quarters consisting of office space, bunk rooms, kitchen, dining and day room facilities. Archimages worked closely with the City to manage the overall budget while achieving maximum benefit for each individual station. House No. 2 included a renovation to the existing historic structure and was awarded the Bronze Award by the National Fire Chief Association. All three houses focus on function and safety and incorporate several passive training features and durable systems designs.
